Better Than Adventure!

If you prefer beta Minecraft like me then you'll probably be interested in the Better Than
Adventure project. It's basically beta Minecraft with all the quality of life features and
some cool modifications. It's probably the most popular "alternate timeline" Minecraft mod out
there.

Features

The armor system got an overhaul. Now armors have distinct stats. Iron armor will protect you
from the blast damage while chain mail armor will keep you safe from combat damage. This
completely eliminates the issue of vanilla Minecraft where your old armor becomes completely
obsolete seconds after getting a new one. Now optimizing for the best combo and your needs
becomes a new challenge. You have to choose if you want to be protected from enemies or from
explosions.

Food also works differently. In the beta version food was not stackable and after eating it
you got health immediately. In the new versions you have to satiate your hunger to regenerate.
BTA uses a middle ground. You eat food and your health will regenerate slowly. You can see
half-red hearts which show how much health I will get after eating the item I'm holding.
You can also see coordinates at the top left corner. I have a compass in my inventory which
makes me able to see where I am.

Here you can see that F3 debug menu actually doesn't show much. I can not see my coordinates.
That's because I need a compass. Thanks to it, now crafting a compass is actually useful.

Why does it matter?
Because modern Minecraft sucks. It is slowly stealing features from Terraria that never belonged
to it. Minecraft was always about inner creativity. Mojang keeps adding more loot and weapons
while not actually adding more difficult mobs. Minecraft Beta was the last version where the
monsters were actually a challenge. Now you can always just outrun them.
Also, the features added in BTA are just genuinely amazing and make the Beta experience not only
more expansive but they also keep coherency and simplicity of the old versions.

You can find more info and play it (please, it's great) on their official website here!!
